The evolution during the jam

Just to share a bit of the evolution of the project
This is my first game jam. I've always wanted to participate in a game jam, but I was always afraid because I just starting learning programing and game developing in general. I'm an artist learning how to code and how to use the Godot engine.

With the little programming knowledge I have  decided that it would be smart to use sketches as assets since I don't do pixel art.

So, I drew a concept of the game based on the video The Glass Frog: Ultimate Ninja Dad and I started the project using simple and quick sketches.
This was the first sketch of the idea of the game.

I was going to follow the same basic, flat, unfinished style to be quick and not waste a lot of time painting

The first thing I did was to create the frog, animate and code it

So, I started to develop the game

The wasps (which don't look much like wasps in the first version) would have no wing animation. It would be all as it is in the video above because I was afraid of not being able to do it in time.
Then, for some reason something hammered in my head, and I was going to change everything, and paint with details. I thought. "I have no obligation to to submit the game, I am doing it to learn, so I will do it in the best way with the time limitation"
And so I did.

In the end it was worth it. Although it took a lot of work to do everything on my own, the result was better than I had originally anticipated. Even music and sfx I managed to do.

It was a great experience
